CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY APPEAL - A LICENSE TO CARE!

Today, with urgency, Habitat Niagara extends an appeal to the construction industry for help. The charitable organization has leased new office and retail space in St. Catharines and requires the professional help to complete renovation and construction in the interior of the facility. If you have a trade license or are a supplier of construction materials, show your community support and help Habitat Niagara build their new “home” - regional office and retail store.
Accredited construction trades are required in the following areas:
- Steel stud installers
- Insulators
- Drywall installers
- Tapers
- Trim Carpenters
- Electricians
- Plumbers
- HVAC installers
- Sprinkler installers
- Voice/Data Cablers
- Painters
- Flooring installers
Donations of construction materials are required as per below:
- Electrical wire and components
- Data wire
- Commercial plumbing supplies
- HVAC Ducting
- Cabinetry
- Trim
- Commercial carpet
- Tile
- Telephone and security system

The organization can offer you public recognition, publicity, and a tax receipt for the full market value of your donated materials and services. Discounted services and materials will be considered. Be a part of Habitat’s housing mission, show the community that “trades do care”.

About Habitat for Humanity Niagara:
Habitat for Humanity Niagara is an independent, not-for-profit housing organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty by building homes in partnership with families in need. We build safe, decent, and affordable houses on a non-profit basis and provide no down payment, interest-free mortgages to qualifying families who would otherwise not be able to purchase their own home. Habitat is not a giveaway program; we provide "a hand up not a hand out". Qualifying families contribute sweat equity hours through involvement with Habitat or other community charitable endeavours.
Established locally in 1993, Habitat has constructed 30 homes in Niagara. We are a member of Habitat for Humanity Canada; part of a worldwide network that spans more than 90 countries, has built over 300,000 homes, and is now building a new home every 10 minutes.
Habitat for Humanity Niagara operates a retail outlet selling donated new and used building materials, hardware and home supplies, called the ReStore. The ReStore concept is by definition GREEN, diverting to sales product that was destined for landfill. Since opening St. Catharines in 2000, we have diverted over 3,000,000 pounds. The resulting revenue supports our affiliate overhead costs and funds house builds, making the organization self-sustainable.
